Kappa Delta Pi

International Honor Society in Education

Kappa Delta Pi is an International Educational Honor Society recognizing excellence and scholarship in those associated with the teaching profession. Texas A&M’s chapter of Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education is entitled Mu Chi and is dedicated to scholarship and excellence in education. As the primary target audience is academic graduate students and undergraduates, the Mu Chi Chapter invites and inducts nearly 150 new members, many of whom are TLAC students, each semester.

The most recent induction ceremony, held on April 24, 2005, was the largest ever for the chapter, with a total of 232 inductees. Chapter counselor, Dr. Lynn M. Burlbaw, was also recognized for his 15 years of dedicated service to the chapter. Kappa Delta Pi elects to membership those who exhibit the ideals of scholarship, high personal standards, and promise in teaching and allied professions. Selection as a member is based on high academic achievement, a commitment to education as a career and a professional attitude that assures steady growth in the profession. For more information, contact Dr. Lynn M. Burlbaw, chapter counselor at burlbaw@neo.tamu.edu or visit http://kdp.org.
