Forms for Current Senior Methods Students

Senior-level students enroll in Senior Methods the semester prior to their student teaching experience. Aggie pre-service teachers in Methods experience the continuity of learning through their expanded classroom responsibilities. Senior Methods students will add value to classrooms by actively assisting in these suggested ways, but they are not limited to these activities:

  • Tutor/assist individual students
  • Work with small groups
  • Assist/monitor whole-class setting
  • Co-teach with the mentor
  • Teach part of a lesson
  • Teach a full lesson/day
  • Prepare instructional materials
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations
  • Grade student work
  • Assist students in the library
  • Assist students in the computer lab
  • Assist with bus duty, hall duty
  • Attend parent conferences, faculty meetings, grade level/team meeting
Before a senior methods student can be given their field placement, they must provide the Methods Instructor for their field site evidence of membership in a professional organization that provides liability insurance. This may be satisfied with a copy of a membership card or a copy of the receipt for membership in the organization.
If you have questions, please email field-placements@tamu.edu.
