STAMP Program

Student Teacher and Mentor Partnership

Developing highly qualified teaching teams

The Student Teacher and Mentor Partnership (STAMP) program matches highly qualified teams of public school mentors with student teachers who have experienced a high degree of success during their Senior Methods Semester (SMS). This teaming technique provides opportunity for student teachers to develop through shared mentoring responsibilities and peer interactions. STAMP is a university-recognized honors program and requires the recommendation of the SMS instructors and field teachers as well as high GPR (grade point ratio) standing*. The development of this unique program encourages team-building and trust throughout the partnership. This teaming approach allows each student to receive continuous and varied feedback from the team of teachers and the student teacher’s peers.

*Students do not apply for this program; they are selected.
