Undergraduate Degree Programs

The Department of Teaching, Learning and Culture (TLAC) offers a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Interdisciplinary Studies, with one of three focuses: EC–6 Generalist, Middle Grades 4–8 Math/Science and Middle Grades 4–8 Language Arts/Social Studies. Students will participate in student teaching and have the opportunity to receive a Texas Teacher Certification.

All students are required to achieve and maintain a 2.75 GRP and to attend mandatory advising sessions each semester. Students will not be allowed to register until attending the advising sessions.

Students must apply for and be accepted to upper level to complete their degree. Once admitted to the upper level Teacher Education, students are placed into field experiences to prepare for their student teaching. Field experiences are coordinated by the Student Teaching Office and Field Placement Office and are completed in stages.

Undergraduate students are required to follow and mantain all student responsibilities in order to remain in the program.
