“One of the things that set this program apart is that it is located within the Teaching, Learning & Culture Department at Texas A&M. There’s more to teaching than just delivering a curriculum or instructional strategy; we have to consider the influence that culture has one what we do.”

Katelynn Owens

Katelynn Owens

Howdy! My name is Katelynn Owens, and I am an EC-6 Education major from Fort Worth, Texas. I came to Texas A&M with my mind set on being a nurse, but my heart had its own plans; hello education! I am now full heartedly pursuing a career as a 1st or 2nd grade teacher. I am in love with Aggieland, and I am beyond blessed to be here with so many great friends, and my pretty cool twin sister.

If I’m not somewhere on campus, you can find me eating at alllll the fries at Chickfila or at the nearest coffee shop. I also love to bake, and enjoy my time being involved in an organization called Cupcakes for a Cause here on campus!

This is my first semester serving as a UPMT, and I am so excited to begin working with my fellow colleagues, as well as encourage and support those who need help and guidance with technology!
