B.S. in Education: Secondary Education Coaching & Teaching (CTSE)
This is an interdisciplinary, certification-seeking undergraduate degree designed to prepare students to serve as effective secondary classroom teachers integrating coaching, leadership, and sport-based learning into school and athletic settings.
The Secondary Education (SEED) minor is integrated into the CTSE degree and serves as the University’s approved educator preparation program (EPP) for secondary teacher certification.
The CTSE program equips graduates with pedagogical training, content-area preparation, and experiential learning aligned with Texas secondary educator certification standards. The degree intentionally balances classroom teaching and coaching preparation, supporting students who plan to teach academic content while also engaging in coaching or athletic leadership roles.
