Undergraduate Peer Mentors in Technology

Undergraduate Peer Mentors in Technology

Undergraduate Peer Mentors in Technology (UPMTs) are pre-service teachers hand-selected by the program coordinator for their extraordinary technology skills. UPMTs work to support their fellow undergraduates by providing training on various types of instructional technology, mentor peers in completing technology intensive projects for TLAC courses, and by assisting EDCI 365 courses in various ways.

Mentors are available to assist students for help with instructional technology or technology-rich projects in the UPMT office, room 413 in Harrington Tower. We encourage you to schedule an appointment to help us prepare for your specific need.

Current Peer Mentors

Maddie Huggins

Howdy!
My name is Maddie Huggins, and I am a sophomore majoring in Early Childhood–6th Grade Education. I’m from the small town of New Boston, Texas, and I am a proud first-generation Aggie! With both my mother and grandmother having been teachers, a passion for education truly runs in the family. After graduation, I plan to return to my hometown to teach and possibly pursue my master’s degree online. I truly believe that whatever grade I’m placed in is exactly where I’m meant to be and where I will be able to make the greatest impact!
My faith is a big part of who I am. Serving in my hometown church’s kids ministry is what inspired me to pursue a career in education. Here at Texas A&M, I am also a member of Aggie Sisters for Christ, which has been the biggest blessing in my college journey.
In my free time, I love exploring estate sales and antique shops in search of unique treasures. I also enjoy Dancing with the Stars, all things creative, and traveling to new places.
As your UPMT this semester, I want to make this class easier for you by answering questions, offering support, and bridging the gap between student and professor. Since I’ve already completed this course, I understand what it takes to succeed and I’m here to help however I can!

Laiah Spitters

Howdy!

My name is Laiah Spitters, and I’m from Frisco, Texas. I am an Early Childhood through Grade 6 Education major, and I cannot wait to be in the classroom! I have always had a passion for helping others, and I’m excited to see how that passion translates into my future classroom.

I have two siblings whom I am very close with, and I’m the youngest in my family. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, cooking and baking, and being outdoors in nature.

I am also involved in an organization here at Texas A&M called ASC (Aggie Sisters for Christ), and I absolutely love it; ask me about it! I’m really looking forward to getting to know you all better this semester. I love making new friends, so please come say hi whenever you see me!

I am here to serve and support you in any way I can, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions at all.

Maddy Stegall

Howdy! My name is Maddy Stegall, I am a junior Early Childhood through Sixth grade Education major, from Katy, Texas! After finishing my undergraduate degree I am hoping to pursue a masters degree in educational policy and spend some time in the classroom with the end goal of working with public education agencies and nonprofits to better Texas public school districts.

Outside of my classes I am a part of the oldest women’s organization on campus, Maggies. I love to read, run, watch movies and spend time with friends! Some of my favorite things are Pride and Prejudice (2005), at home lattes, the book Intermezzo by Sally Rooney, and my Ipad.

This year I hope to serve as a useful resource that allows you to excel in this course. Since I have previously taken this course please never hesitate to reach out with any questions, problems, or even if you just want to chat about all things education major!
